About the exhibition

Jagged leaves, multiple greens, long stems topped by a sparkling yellow flower. The brightness of dandelions falls asleep in the blue of silence - At first, we could think of a simple naturalistic painting, an index of flowers observed, collected, photographed by the artist and then painted in the studio. But when we look closer, a small part of the painting seems to sparkle. In this colors flincker, a space of daydream is drawn in the heart of the painting. There is always a little magic in the paintings of Mariano Angelotti. And magic is indeed the topics. He gives to these unseen spaces, these pieces of nature slipped in the interstices of a humanized world, ef-fects that seem irrational to us. In his paintings, Mariano Angelotti does not try to reproduce the real, but rather to share the sensation of what he looks at, of what he perceives. He mixes arti-ficial colors and traditional gesture. The yellows are glowing, the blues are sharp or stormy, the oranges are discreet, the greens acid or lush. For Mariano Angelotti, «the painting is completely fake, this is not a real, there is a kind of enjoyment impossibility in the painting, representing the reality. Perhaps the only point of contact with the reality would be the shadow. In his painting, Mariano makes the forms spring of the shadow. The brightness of the dandelions falls asleep in the blue of silence, puts the visitors in a stroller position. The one who walks, without a specific goal. The one who likes to let his glance reach an unknown horizon. The eyes in the blur, sliding on the ground. He likes to look at things be-coming common to us. Walking, wandering, strolling, branching out. Through this new series, Angelotti leads us to these flamboyant yellow spots cracking the old asphalt of our cities. Like a glow, a doorway to an endless imagination. In the crack of a cracked concrete, on the sidewalk of a shady street, at the foot of an electric pole or there, in the background, behind the gate of an abandoned lot. The dandelion rises. This «weed» stands proudly and spreads out massively in front of us. we are fascinated and indifferent at the same time. Why does this flower, as ordinary as it is, awaken in us these paradoxical sensations? Perhaps we have to look in it the innocence of our childhood. The brightness of the dandelion falls asleep in the blue of silence - like an ode to simplicity, to freedom. A wonder, that Mariano Angelotti shares in atmospheres sometimes shaded, sometimes luminous, sometimes noisy but above all silent. Like a stroller we take advantage of a motionless wandering to focus on simplicity. The brightness of the dandelions falls asleep in the blue of silence.
